Family Development is a holistic, in-home visitation program that helps individuals and families move from economic uncertainty to stability by using their strengths to set and accomplish goals.
In the program, families are matched with a Family Development Service Worker (FDSW) who uses a questionnaire, and a tool called the Family Development Matrix. The Matrix describes 12 life areas that encompass every aspect of a family.
After the Matrix is complete, the next step is to determine a familyâs goals and plan for accomplishing them. Often, families already have goals in mind when they reach out to Brightpoint to participate in Family Development. The program is designed to help individuals improve in as many life areas as possible.
Brightpoint staff in the Family Development program offer tremendous knowledge and experience in helping families overcome obstacles. The FDSW will provide referrals, follow-up, and supportive services to help accomplish the family’s goals, but it is important for individuals to actively participate in the program.

Brightpoint is here to help you afford high-quality child care or preschool through one of our subsidized voucher programs. Many Indiana families are unable to access high-quality child care because it is too expensive. The Child Care Assistance program provides families the opportunity to work, go to school, or attend job training knowing their children are in a safe child care program or preschool. These programs work by providing vouchers to private care providers. Families are required to pay a portion of the cost and may choose from a wide list of licensed child care providers and accredited preschool programs.

Utility Assistance, also known as the Energy Assistance Program or EAP, helps pay a portion of winter heating bills for households in Allen, DeKalb, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, and Whitley Counties. EAP provides a one-time annual benefit that can assist with the high cost of home energy.
Important things to know when applying:
–If your credit balance on your utility bill is $250 for regulated or $500 for Bulk Fuel, you will not be eligible. DO NOT submit your application until it is below that amount.
–It is your responsibility to continue paying your bill until you see the payment on your utility bill.

Brightpoint’s Weatherization program provides energy conservation measures to reduce the utility bills of qualified residents in northeast Indiana. Weatherization is an income-based program that is open to both renters and owners. We offer a free home energy audit and home improvement measures for residential dwellings to decrease energy use and lower utility bills, while also making your home a healthy and safe place to live.
This is not an emergency or a home repair program. Rehabilitation items like windows and roofing, emergency repairs to appliances, and mold or other hazard remediation are not included in the weatherization program. The Lifehouse Clinic is designed for adults and children who are uninsured, those meeting federal poverty guidelines, and the underinsured population. The clinic provides resources, education and services to promote health and healing of oneâs body, mind and spirit.
Some of the services provided are sports physicals, wellness health screening for high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, sick visits such as colds and coughs, and flu immunizations. Patient education and referral services are also a large part of our ministry.

Family Development is a holistic, in-home visitation program that helps individuals and families move from economic uncertainty to stability by using their strengths to set and accomplish goals.
In the program, families are matched with a Family Development Service Worker (FDSW) who uses a questionnaire, and a tool called the Family Development Matrix. The Matrix describes 12 life areas that encompass every aspect of a family.
After the Matrix is complete, the next step is to determine a family’s goals and plan for accomplishing them. Often, families already have goals in mind when they reach out to Brightpoint to participate in Family Development. The program is designed to help individuals improve in as many life areas as possible.
Brightpoint staff in the Family Development program offer tremendous knowledge and experience in helping families overcome obstacles. The FDSW will provide referrals, follow-up, and supportive services to help accomplish the family’s goals, but it is important for individuals to actively participate in the program.

We address behaviors that impede community integration and personal independence goals.
