Society of St Vincent de Paul – Fort Wayne
Effective Date: February 19, 2026
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul – Fort Wayne (“SVdP Fort Wayne”) uses SMS (text messaging) to communicate with individuals who request charitable assistance or volunteer engagement.
How Consent is Collected
SMS consent is obtained verbally during a phone call with a trained volunteer or staff member.
Before sending any text message, the following script is read:
“May we text you about your assistance request? Message frequency varies depending on your case. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out or HELP for help. Our Terms & Conditions are available at https://svdpfortwayne.org/terms-conditions, and our Privacy Policy is available at https://svdpfortwayne.org/privacy-policy.”
Text messages are only sent after the individual provides verbal agreement.
Consent is documented in the individual’s case record before any SMS communication begins.
What Messages Are Used For
Text messages may be used for:
- Assistance intake follow-up
